COVID-19: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Yes, as of May 25th, Nature’s Emporium team members and customers will be required to wear a face mask or face covering at the Maple and Woodbridge locations. This policy will go into effect at Nature’s Emporium Newmarket and Burlington locations effective May 26th.
We continue to encourage that only one member from each household shop once per week. However, when one-person shopping is not an option, we leave it to the parent or guardian's discretion for children 10-years-old and younger. A mask or face covering will be required for anyone 11-years and older.
All Nature’s Emporium team members will be provided with a face mask to use during each shift.
Between May 25th and June 7th, customers who do not have a face mask or face covering will be provided with one at the entrance of our stores. From June 8th onward, any customer without a face mask/covering can purchase one for $1.00.
This Policy was introduced following strong recommendations from the province’s health officials to wear a face mask or face covering in public. Team members and customers who refuse to wear a mask or covering will, unfortunately, not be permitted to enter any of our stores.
This is applicable to anyone who is unable to wear a mask or covering due to health reasons. For these customers, we encourage them to utilize our curbside pick-up service by visiting our website.
Yes, we announced on May 7th that three of our team members from the Maple location tested positive for the virus. Two, thankfully, did not exhibit any symptoms. The third team member is recovering at home.
Our Maple location was closed for two weeks to allow the rest of our staff to self-quarantine as an added layer of precaution. We are happy to share that no other team members tested positive for COVID.
Every inch of our Maple store, products on the shelves, and products in refrigerators have been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected to ensure our team comes back to a healthy and safe work environment and that our customers come back to a safe place to shop.
We have consulted with Public Health and according to officials, there is no evidence to suggest that food is a likely source or route of transmission of the virus. At this time, there have been no reported cases of food or food packaging being associated with the transmission of COVID-19.
We encourage everyone to follow good hygiene practices during food handling and preparation, such as:
- Washing hands with soap and water,
- regularly cleaning and disinfecting surfaces,
- cooking meat thoroughly,
- avoiding potential cross-contamination between cooked and uncooked foods.
